    Andrew:

Do me a favor???? TAKE this image and import the COLOR file again and do this to it:

Click on CHANNELS (next to the Layers Pallet).
Click on the eyeball next to the RED channel and make it the only active channel.
    Go to IMAGE>MODE>Grayscale.
    NEXT.
    Go to IMAGE>MODE>RGB
    NEXT.
Go to IMAGE>ADJUST>Color balance and change it to +7 RED and -7 BLUE.

Then re-post it......JUST wondering how it would look using that effect.

So you did not have a COLOR image to try this little B&W Move on???

IF you do try it, MAKE sure you take it from a COLOR image,,,LET me know how you like it.

When I select only the red channel and go to grayscale the image. Do I throw away all the other channels?

And as a follow up, if you open up the "curves" box and make just a slight "S" in the curve. Put a mark about a 1/4 down from the top and pull up just a bit (or use the keyboard shortcut of the up & down arrows) then do the same in the bottom 1/4 except pull it down just a bit. It will make the image slightly more contrasty in the mid tones.
