I felt the same making it - tried that.
used the real pic and made it a bit transparent in the glass... didnt' work well. The idea should be limited to a subject that is clearly defined pose wise and one that doesn't necessary have a face showing. (someone looking down, or away, or possibly a profile) this was my first attempt playing with the effect, so will have to see if I find another good subject.
I agree,
I think it might abe cool to see the "glass" be a little transparent and see some of tha ballerina through it. It's hard to make out details. Just a thought. Love the idea!!
I think you need to be able to make out some of the facial features. I seem to be struggling to look at something less ambiguous when viewing the image.
I agree it's cool.... but I would have like the finished image better if she had had her hair pulled into a bun or pony tail.... it's distracting the way it appears to 'thicken' her head. JMO

It's a nice change of pace after shooting years of traditional stuff.
Micheal Campbell and I have been playing with some ideas here that maybe to over the top? Blending portraiture and virtual photography to create.... art?
If nothing else, it's fun-
A ballerina I shot in the studio a couple months ago.
