I like the image, but it's almost too bright to me? Maybe a boost in contrast would help?

I would try a levels adjustment or atleast pump up the contrast a little more.

Can you post it in color with nothing done to it? I will show you what I mean.

Do you shoot RAW? If so, leave the highlights where they are and bring in the shadows...otherwise, great image...very natural...like the crop, etc...!

Here's a bump on the contrast, but erased the front teeth b/c they blew out quick!

Maybe even a little more black point.

Remember that you can add more contrast by raising the contrast and also by raising the black point in levels. Usually you can take it as far as one will let you b/f it starts blowing out the whites and then go to the black point and squeeze a little more black into the image. You got one of the hardest things to get right off the bat though. You have good exposure and nice catchlights. It seems as if your light is almost a little too frontal. It would be nice if you could feather it more or move it just a teensy bit more to the side.

you're right, this was taken almost a year ago?? and I do remember the sitting...one because he was so sweet and two because I liked that dark part along his cheek (is that 'masking'? I'm not really sure on that term.... the light was a bit 'too' directed at him - Thanks!
