  • Emails and Competition Prints.....

    This is KIRK VOCLAIN....

I get so many emails from people saying...I wish I could post this picture but one of the Judges at my State Convention is on the Pro4uM...

Kirk, can you look at it and tell me what you would do.

NOW...you can post it here...and if the JUDGE SEE IT...so what...he/she still will not know who did it.

Cool! But once that Judge sees the actual print at the Convention, they may remember the comments made about it on the board. Could that not color their opinion of how it might score? Just a hypothetical....

If I were a judge.... I wouldn't let the posts of others change my view of the image. If I like it then I like it. But that's just me... I'm not a judge.

True, but as humans its not uncommon to have some psychological influence from hearing what others say. Just exploring an idea, it certainly wouldn't have the same effect on every judge I'm sure.

A judge can always excuse him/herself from scoring a print if the maker is known to them or is uncomfortable having with seen the print before.

you're also assuming they'd remember it....I'm not a judge either but if I were seeing a bunch of prints everyday just through normal activities, I'm not sure I would remember them at a print comp.... well... I also have a really bad memory : )
